Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the final result of Civil Services Examination 2024. With this exam, the hard work of lakhs of youth has paid off, who were dreaming of getting selected in prestigious services like IAS, IPS, IFS for years. After the result, now the eyes of the candidates are on the cutoff marks, which decide where the line of selection was drawn. The commission has released the category wise cutoff of all three stages - preliminary, main and final on its official website upsc.gov.in.

Know how much was the cutoff of the preliminary examination

The cutoff for the General category in the preliminary examination of UPSC CSE 2024 was 87.98 marks, which can be considered balanced according to recent years. It has been fixed at 87.28 marks for OBC category, 85.92 marks for EWS, 79.03 marks for SC category and 74.23 marks for ST category. These figures show that the category-wise competition was also very intense in the preliminary examination.

Category wise cutoff of main exam

The cutoff marks in the main exam were more challenging. The cutoff for the main exam for the general category was 729 marks, while 696 for EWS, 702 for OBC, 685 for SC category and 684 marks for ST category have been fixed.

This is the final line for final selection

The final cutoff, which also includes interview marks, was 947 marks for the general category. This mark represents the final limit of selection, on the basis of which service is allotted to the candidates.

Shakti Dubey was number 1 among the toppers

This time Shakti Dubey of Prayagraj has secured the first position. Harshita Goyal was in second place and Dongre Archit Parag was in third place. Three women are included in the top 5. Akash Garg of Delhi has got the fifth position. This year 2845 candidates were called for interview, out of which 1009 have been selected. The selected candidates include 335 from general category, 318 from OBC, 109 from EWS, 160 from SC category and 87 from ST category.
