Priscilla Pointer, who played Rebecca Barnes Wentworth, the mother of Victoria Principal's character Pamela Ewing, in 1980s soap opera Dallas has died at the age 100. The iconic actress died on Monday at an assisted living facility her son, the writer-director David Irving, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. Her daughter, Oscar nominated actress Amy Irving, paid tribute on Alongside a picture of her mother eating a slice of cake while wearig a floral crown she wrote her mother died "peacefully in her sleep at the age of 100, hopefully to run off with her 2 adoring husbands and her many dogs. She most definitely will be missed."

Priscilla was also known for playing her real life daughter's mother on screen in the 1976 horror classic Carrie. She also portrayed Diane Keaton's mother in Looking for Mr. Goodbar in 1977, Sean Penn's The Falcon and the Snowman in 1985 and Kyle MacLachlan's in Blue Velvet in 1986.

Tributes quickly flooded in for the centenarian. "What a life, what a career, what contributions she made. May her memory be a blessing," one person wrote in comment to Amy's post. "She was a wonderful and brilliant actress who really had me hooked in her films. May she rest in peace," another wrote.

A third chimed in: "So sorry to hear. She was an inimitable talent." A fourth added: "She was a force on screen. An absolute talent. What a life well lived and she will be missed."

"RIP beautiful Priscilla. Gave us decades of brilliant performances. I remember seeing you both in Carrie as a kid and being so pleasantly surprised to see you both together again in Rumpelstiltskin. Rest peacefully," a fifth penned followed by a heart emoji.

"I was just watching her on Dallas the other day, thinking how much she brought to the role of Rebecca Wentworth. And of course she is forever 'Mrs. Chadwick' to me and my ilk. My condolences (she) was one of a kind," a sixth offered.

Priscilla's screen success came alongside her acclaimed theatre career. In the 1960s and 1970s, she worked with the Repertory Theater of Lincoln Center company on Broadway with her first husband, the late Jules Irving.

"Instead of using babysitters, Mama would put us in the front row where she could watch us from the stage," Amy recalled in a 1994 interview with the Los Angeles Times. "My father was an amazing artistic director, and the values of the Actor's Workshop were special. It was about the work, not money or fame. Things were very disillusioning when I got out into the real world," she said.

Priscilla's first husband Jules Irving died from a heart attack in 1979 at age 54, and she married actor Robert Symonds two years later. He pre-deceased her in 2007.

She is survived by son David, her daugthers Amy and Katie and eight grandchildren.
