Kolkata: SSC on Tuesday released few names of ‘eligible teachers’ to district inspectors (DI) who can go back to schools.

According to SSC sources, these names were earlier omitted due to ‘human error’ Chinmoy Mondal, one of the teachers to lead the protests, also got back his job.

Talking to the media, Mondal said that he wants the remaining ‘eligible teachers’ to get back their jobs.

“Yes, my name has been sent to the DI office and I am told that my name is cleared and I can get my salary till December 31. There are few genuine candidates' names which are yet to get cleared. The Commission's fault has led to the present situation, and we are suffering,” said Mondal.

Notably, following the Supreme Court’s verdict, 25,753 qualifying candidates of the 2016 recruitment tests have been protesting outside the SSC building at Salty Lake for the past few days seeking clarification and segregation of ‘tainted’ and ‘untainted’ candidates.

The SSC sources also mentioned that since April 21 the Commission has been working on war footing to segregate the genuine and tainted candidates.

Incidentally, a couple of days back over the phone Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced ex-gratia of Rs. 25000 and Rs. 20000 to Group C and Group D jobless people respectively.
