London The Premier League team said that Lucas Bergvall has agreed to a new deal with Tottenham Hotspur that would last until 2031.
Lucas joined the Suprs on July 1st of 2024 after signing a contract with the Club in February of that year from Djurgarden of Sweden’s Allsvenskan.
The 19-year-old has made 45 appearances across all competitions so far in an outstanding first year, including his first against Leicester City in our opening match of the 2024–2025 campaign.
In January 2025, he scored his first goal for the Club in a 1-0 win against Liverpool in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. He has also contributed four assists in Premier League and UEFA Europa League games.
Bergvall expressed his enthusiasm for the future after signing a new contract with the Club. He acknowledged that since joining us, he has had to learn both on and off the field, but he is happy to have committed to the Club for the future.
“I’m eager for this trip to continue and am really thankful to everyone who has supported me. Spurs cited Bergvall as saying, “I’m really enjoying being here and playing for this amazing football club; it’s a club with great ambitions.”
It’s taught me a lot. Naturally, Deki (Dejan Kulusevski) helped me a lot in the beginning when I moved to a new nation and culture, but living alone, cooking, and everything else—it’s not only about training every day as a football player. I believe I’ve grown both as a person and as a player because you have to take care of the vehicle, the home, the flat, everything basically,” Je said.
Lucas made his senior international debut against Estonia in January 2024 after playing for Sweden at the Under-21, Under-19, and Under-17 levels. He has since made four appearances for his nation.
