TGSRTC News: On Thursday, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) said that a metro combi ticket will be available for Rs 20 per journey. The decision was made, according to the administration, to provide bus pass users convenience by allowing them to travel around the Greater Hyderabad Region in metro deluxe buses. It went on to say that the most recent action is anticipated to boost the number of people using public transportation in Telangana’s capital.
Only travelers possessing a general bus ticket (GBT) metro express or monthly bus passes would be eligible to purchase tickets, the TGSRTC said. According to the current ruling, commuters will be able to use the metro premium buses.
According to the statement, “the initiative aims to provide seamless and hassle-free travel for passengers by extending access.” It said that the metro combi ticket would only be good for one trip and that passengers may buy tickets straight from the bus conductors.
The TGSRTC said earlier this month that the city’s commuter population has been growing quickly and that the authority is committed to making the city’s citizens’ lives more convenient by implementing new measures.
According to the article, the purpose of the metro deluxe buses was to provide travelers more comfort by offering nicer seating and more room between seats. Although long-distance travelers have been using buses, the most recent action is anticipated to persuade more passengers to do the same.
Due to a purported payment delay, the TGSRTC workers announced earlier this week that they will begin an indefinite strike on May 7. The workers have been asked to think again by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and State Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, who have also said that the government is taking a number of actions to address their concerns.
“We have reduced provident fund arrears from Rs 1,562 crore to Rs 600 crore, released pending travel and dearness allowances, filled compassionate appointment vacancies, transformed the RTC Tarnaka Hospital into a super-specialty hospital, and are acquiring new buses,” Prabhakar said.
