In a remarkable step towards enhancing sports infrastructure in India’s Northeast region, Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, inaugurated the Khelo India Multipurpose Hall today in Kamle district, Arunachal Pradesh. This facility is set to revolutionize sports training in the region and is fully funded by the Central Government at a cost of Rs. 8 Crore.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by prominent leaders, including State Ministers Shri Kento Jini and Shri Nyato Dukam, along with MLA 25th Raga, Shri Rotom Tebin, all of whom attended to celebrate this significant milestone in the growth of grassroots sports in Arunachal Pradesh.
The newly inaugurated Khelo India Multipurpose Hall is equipped with the latest infrastructure to support a variety of indoor sports. The facility will cater to boxing, badminton, judo, wushu, karate, taekwondo, weightlifting, table tennis, and volleyball, offering professional training opportunities for athletes. This will enable young sportspersons from the region to train at a world-class level and prepare for national and international competitions.

During the inauguration, Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the importance of developing sports infrastructure in remote districts to provide youth with equal opportunities.
