The all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was recently ruled out of the IPL 2025 due to a finger fracture that he had suffered this season. It was an unfortunate end to the Melbourne-born's campaign, who failed to get a good knock in the tournament and could not live up to the expectations in his reunion with Punjab.
There has been a long discussion among the fans and the experts on who would be the replacement for the 36-year-old swashbuckling cricketer, and the franchise has announced young and upcoming Australian batter and occasional seamer. The 23-year-old Hobart-born is currently playing in the PSL, where he is representing the Peshawar Zalmi and will be part of the IPL as a replacement for the departed Maxwell, following the end of his stint in the neighbouring nation.
The Shreyas Iyer-led side has had a decent run in the IPL so far where they have won six out of the ten matches. The team currently finds itself on the fourth spot on the IPL 2025 Points Table, and a win against LSG on Sunday would take them to the second position. It will be interesting to see if Owen will fit into the scheme of things within the PBKS squad and fill the Big Show's boots once he arrives in India.
