Riyan Parag, Rajasthan Royals' makeshift captain, seems to have lost his cool as he shouted at his colleague Yashasvi Jaiswal during an IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders played at Eden Gardens on Sunday, May 4. This happened on the third ball of the 10th over of KKR's innings. Parag tossed the wide ball outside off, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi had a go for a big shot long off. Jaiswal brilliantly sprinted to his left just inside the boundary rope to stop it.
Quick work saved a boundary but Parag obviously was not in great spirits. He thought the KKR batters should have ideally managed assimilating a single and vented out his frustrations in some cuss words, for the poor fielding by Jaiswal. Not the best season for Parag yet. He has got 282 runs in his 12 outings at a strike rate of 160, whereas he has got only two wickets. This comes after a breakthrough season on 2024 when he scored 573 runs in as many as 16 matches.
Jaiswal, meanwhile, was in excellent batting form. The left-hander has so far scored 439 runs from 12 matches, including five fifties, at an average of almost 44 and a strike rate of 154.
In the KKR-RR match, which started with the toss won by Ajinkya Rahane, RR began batting first. Sunil Narine (11) was dismissed in the second over of the game by RR pacer Yudhvir Singh. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (35) and Rahane (30) then added 56 runs to bring the home side back on track.

Rahane pushed the innings along with his partnership of 42 runs with Raghuvanshi, who, with 44 runs from 31 balls, had quite a large say in the innings. Andre Russell's bashing knock for an unbeaten 57 runs in 25 balls and a partnership of 61 runs with Raghuvanshi suddenly raised the KKR score to 206 in 4 overs.
Rinku Singh followed up with a whirlwind cameo of 19* from 6 balls, adding to an electrifying 34-run partnership with Russell in just 11 balls. RR bowlers, Jofra Archer, Yudhvir Singh, Riyan Parag, and Maheesh Theekshana, were left to share the spoils, with each claiming a wicket. Russell also crossed the landmark of becoming only the third batter to score over 1000 IPL runs at Eden Gardens during his innings.
