JSW MG Motor is set to launch the all-new MG Windsor Pro on May 6positioning it as a premium, long-range upgrade to its popular Windsor EV. The Windsor Pro will bring advanced features such as Level 2 ADAS, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load)and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) charging technology—capabilities that are not offered on the current Windsor EV.

As MG expands its EV footprint in India, the Windsor Pro will join the MG Comet, MG ZS EVand Windsor EVaiming to meet the growing demand for tech-forward electric mobility in the country.

MG Windsor Pro: Feature Upgrades and First-in-Segment Technologies

The MG Windsor Pro is expected to redefine expectations in the subcompact electric vehicle segment with several segment-first innovations:

  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): Owners will be able to power external devices and equipment directly from the vehicle’s battery, making it ideal for camping, emergencies, or mobile workstations.

  • Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) Charging: This functionality allows the Windsor Pro to charge another EV—an especially useful feature in remote areas or emergencies.

  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS): Equipped with Level 2 ADASthe Windsor Pro integrates 12 safety and driver-assist features. Key elements include:

    • Traffic Jam Assist (TJA)

    • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

    • Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

The ADAS system provides audio, visual, and haptic alertshelping prevent collisions and reduce driver fatigue.

These features mark a notable leap over the standard MG Windsor EV, which lacks V2L, V2V, and ADAS functionality.

Enhanced Powertrain and Extended Range

One of the most significant upgrades in the Windsor Pro is its larger 50.6 kWh battery packa step up from the 38 kWh unit in the current Windsor EV. This enhancement offers an impressive 460 km claimed range on a single charge, compared to 332 km on the standard variant.

This range boost positions the Windsor Pro competitively against other long-range EVs in the Indian market and aligns with MG’s strategy to offer practical yet technologically rich mobility solutions.

Market Impact and Availability

Since its debut, the MG Windsor EV has become a strong performer in MG’s EV portfolio, offered under both full purchase and battery subscription models. The Windsor Pro is expected to further elevate MG’s share in the premium compact EV segment, providing a compelling package for tech-savvy and range-conscious buyers.

With its launch set for May 6the MG Windsor Pro will soon be available at dealerships across India. Pricing is expected to carry a slight premium over the current Windsor EV, in line with the added technology and extended battery range.
