Read, Digital Desk : Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor together with acclaimed filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari are currently working on a grand cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic ‘Ramayana’. Scouting locations and casting for the movie is already creating a buzz, and it’s clear the film is set to be one of the most anticipated releases in the country.

Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also been sharing his insights. A video where he shares his comments on the production quality has already become popular on social media. The CM had attended the Waves Summit 2025 where he even met with the writer-producer Namit Malhotra. The CM said how impressed he was after visiting the set.

CM Fadnavis remarked, “We are perhaps the foremost storytellers. From ancient times, we have enjoyed performing arts. This is what the team is doing today, blending it with modern technology.”

He noted, “When I, together with the Prime Minister, visited your pavilion yesterday, I was indeed spellbound with the quality of Ramayana you are doing. This is the way we need to tell stories to our kids – I am sure this project will provide standards across the globe.”

The film features an ensemble cast that includes:

Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram

Sai Pallavi as Sita

Yash featuring as the valiant Ravana

As well as supporting roles played by Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, and Lara Dutta
“Jai Silva Sivan”, renowned as one of India’s prominent filmmakers, is set to execute these visions in a film of epic proportions, blending modern technology with Indian lore and cinema. The film will be produced on a grand scale, releasing in two parts — Part 1 is targeted for Diwali 2026 and Part 2 is expected in 2027.
