Italy’s Milan In order to attend the 58th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which is set for May 4–7, Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman has arrived in Milan, Italy.
The Indian delegation, which includes representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the Department of Economic Affairs, is being led by Sitharaman.
Ambassador Vani Rao and Consul General Lavanya Kumar greet Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman upon her arrival at Milan Malpensa Airport in Italy. The Ministry of Finance announced on X that the Union Finance Minister will attend the 58th ADB Annual Meeting in Milan.
The Indian delegation of officials from the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, is being led by Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman. They are traveling to Milan, Italy, from May 4–7, 2025, to attend the 58th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
International financial institutions, official delegations of ADB members, and representatives of the ADB Board of Governors will also attend the sessions. The focus activities of the Annual Meeting, including as the Governors’ Plenary Session and the Governors’ Business Session, will include the Union Finance Minister as a panelist at the ADB Governors’ Seminar on “Cross-Border Collaboration for Future Resilience.”
Along with meetings with the president of the ADB, the president of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Sitharaman will also have bilateral meetings with the finance ministers of Italy, Japan, and Bhutan on the sidelines of the ADB’s 58th Annual Meeting, according to a release from the finance ministry.
Along from meeting CEOs, business executives, and think tanks from across the world, the Union Finance Minister will also engage with the Indian diaspora in Milan and take part in a plenary session of the NEXT Milan Forum at Bocconi University on “Balancing Economic and Climate Resilience.”
