Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins achieved a major achievement and became only the fourth player to achieve this feat for the franchise in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League against Delhi Capitals on Monday. On the first ball of the match, Cummins took out the first blood in a thrilling match by dismissing Karun Nair on Golden Duck. As soon as Cummins became the fourth player of Hyderabad to take wickets on the first ball of the IPL match, the orange wave ran in joy.

Before Cummins, Jagdish Suchita was the first player to achieve this feat. He dismissed Royal Challengers Bangalore's batting Ustad Virat Kohli in 2022. In the current edition, India's veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami dismissed Chennai Super Kings young opener Sheikh Rashid (CSK) in Chepak and became the third player of Sunrisers who achieved this feat.

Cummins attacked Karun Nair, landed the ball into the good length area and excluded the outer edge of the Nair, giving it a loose air. The ball took a little wings on the way to wicketkeeper Ishaan Kishan, forcing Nair to return to the dugout for Golden Duck.
