What is the right method of wearing Kalava

Kalava can wear any person. Kalava should always be tied to male and unmarried women in their right hand and married women in their left hand. You can also use dupatta and handkerchief to cover your head. Now get Kalava wrapped on the wrist thrice from a pundit or a family member. What is the right rule of wearing Kalava?
  • Kalava in hand should always be tied in auspicious time.
  • If the kalava breaks or gets spoiled, it should be replaced without delay.
  • Tuesday or Saturday is considered to be the most auspicious to change Kalava, so you too change Kalava on Tuesday and Saturday.
  • Do not throw the old Kalava anywhere, it is considered inauspicious to do so. According to the scriptures, the old kalava should always be shed in a holy river, pond or well. By doing this, the positive energy contained in Kalava merges into the water and the effect of negative energy ends.
