Shoppers are running to Waitrose for "beautiful" flowers that "smell of vanilla" in your garden. One customer impressed by the supermarket's offering showcased her find in a TikTok video.

The blogger (@stacey..marie_) often shares gardening recommendations, and Stacey loved her latest buy. She explained: "When I saw another influencer say that these plants smell of vanilla, I had to run and grab them. I saw that Waitrose had them on offer for six for £10, which I thought was an absolute bargain."

In the video, Stacey showcased Nemesia 'Wisley Vanilla', which she added to a planter she purchased from Home Bargains. Showcasing the final result, the shopper said: "I did add extra potting plants alongside them. But I just think sitting out they will smell wonderful."

Impressed, Stacey wanted to recommend the plants to fellow gardening fans. In her caption, Stacey said: "Adding some beautiful aromas to the garden run to Waitrose if you love the scent of vanilla."

Viewers loved the idea, and many shared their own recommendations in return. One shopper wrote: "I had one last year and it made one corner of the garden smell like ice cream. Loved it. We brought it in over winter but it died right before spring. Off to see if my Waitrose has these!"

Another commenter shared: "Last year I brought huge Vanilla Nemesia plants for real cheap (£10) in B&Q they made my whole garden smell and the flowers returned this year. I want more! I keep checking B&Q if they have them." Stacey replied: "Omg going to keep my eyes peeled now at B&Q thanks for the tip."

Someone else added: "Buy some white bacopa and they will magically grow down the side. Mine have been flowering since March and will flower all summer." While shoppers can purchase Nemesia 'Wisley Vanilla' from it's worth noting prices vary, starting from £5.94 for a 9cm pot.

The product description states: "Pretty pale pink flowers with a bright golden eye appear on Nemesia 'Wisley Vanilla' from May through to September. A short and very compact cultivar that is great for adding colour to the front of a sunny garden border or in pots on the patio. In colder areas some winter protection is needed."

The description lists garden care advice and adds that once the warm weather arrives, it can be "planted outside into a well-prepared bed, or used to fill decorative pots and hanging baskets for the patio." However, shoppers restocking on plants next winter will want them to grow under glass until the risk of frost has passed.

Waitrose adds: "Pinching out the growing tips will encourage them to become bushier. Feeding with a high-potash fertiliser at regular intervals throughout the summer will promote even more flowers to form."

Waitrose says the plant needs to be in full sun with moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil, or general-purpose potting compost for containers. Its rate of growth is described as "fast" and its flowering period is between May and September.
