Jasprit Bumrah’s two-wicket haul went in vain as Gujarat Titans stunned the five-time champions by three wickets at the Wankhede Stadium. With this victory, Gujarat dethroned Royal Challengers Bengaluru from the top spot in the standings on the basis of net run rate. GT have recorded 16 points from 11 games.

Chasing 156 runs, Gujarat were 132/6 in 18 overs when rain stopped the contest for the second time. When the contest restarted, the equation was brought down to 15 runs from one over. Rahul Tewatia and Gerald Coetzee completed the job for the 2022 champions. Trent Boult and concussion substitute Ashwani Kumar took two wickets each.

Earlier, MI managed 155/8, with Will Jacks scoring a fifty. Sai Kishore claimed two scalps for GT.
