Windsor EV Pro vs competition: Price, specs compared.

MG Motor India has launched the much-anticipated Windsor Pro EVthus adding another contender to the growing electric SUV segment. Priced at Rs 17.49 lakh, ex-showroom, the Windsor Pro enters a competitive field that includes the likes of Tata Nexon EV and Hyundai Creta Electricboth of which offer long-range variants with larger battery packs. Here’s a quick look at how these three models stack up against each other in terms of specs and pricing in their long-range avatars.

MG Windsor EV vs Nexon EV vs Creta Electric: Battery, range and specs

The Windsor Pro comes with a 52.9kWh battery pack that promises a claimed range of up to 449 km on a single charge. It continues to use the same electric motor as the standard version, producing 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque. For convenience, it supports 60kW DC fast charging, allowing a 20 to 80 percent charge in just 50 minutes. A 7.4kW AC charger can fully replenish the battery in about 9.5 hours. MG also continues to offer its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, with a Rs 12.50 lakh price tag if the buyer opts to rent the battery at Rs 4.5/km.

Hyundai Creta Electric Review: Before buying, know these things | TOI Auto

Hyundai’s answer to this segment is the Creta Electric, which comes with two battery options: a 42kWh pack and a larger 51.4kWh unit. The long-range version boasts a slightly better claimed range of 473 km and more punch, thanks to a 171 hp motor that produces 255 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a brisk 7.9 seconds. Charging the bigger battery takes 4.5 hours on an 11kW AC charger or just under an hour (58 minutes) using a DC fast charger.
Tata’s long-range Nexon EV Empowered Plus comes equipped with a 46.08kWh battery, delivering an ARAI-claimed range of 489 km. Power output stands at 142 hp and 215 Nm. It supports fast charging from 10% to 100% in 40 minutes via a 60kW DC charger and around 6 hours 36 minutes using a 7.2kW AC charger.

MG Windsor EV vs Nexon EV vs Creta Electric: Pricing

The MG Windsor EV Pro is priced from Rs 17.49 lakh, ex-showroom. On the other hand, Hyundai’s Creta Electric, particularly in its long-range avatar, starts at a higher Rs 21.50 lakh, ex-showroom, depending on the variant chosen. Tata’s Nexon EV, on the other hand, is the most accessible of the three, with the larger battery pack available from the Creative variant onwards, priced from Rs 13.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
