In an effort to empower consumers and make grievance redressal seamless, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs has introduced the eDaakhil Portal — a nationwide digital platform that allows consumers to lodge complaints online against any product or service provider. If you've faced issues with a product or service recently, you can now file your complaint directly from home and get updates without stepping out.

The eDaakhil () portal is a user-friendly online platform designed for consumers to file complaints digitally under the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. It eliminates the need to visit consumer forums in person by offering a completely paperless and transparent process for complaint registration, fee payment, and status tracking.

Launched initially on September 7, 2020, the platform had been implemented across 35 states and union territories by the end of 2023. On November 22, 2024, it was officially extended to Ladakh, making eDaakhil available nationwide, including remote villages and towns.

• Easy Registration: Any consumer or lawyer can register through OTP or email verification.

• Online Complaint Filing: Complaints can be submitted directly to the relevant consumer commission from any state or union territory.

• Document Upload: Supporting documents like bills, warranties, or communications can be uploaded in digital format.

• Online/Offline Fee Payment: The portal offers both digital and offline payment modes depending on the user's convenience.

• Track Complaint Status: Users can track their case progress from home using their dashboard.

One of the most attractive aspects of the platform is its affordability:

• If your complaint is worth ₹5 lakh or less, no fee is required.

• For complaints exceeding ₹5 lakh in value, a nominal fee is applied as per the Consumer Protection rules.

While the portal encourages users to upload all documents online, those who wish to submit anything offline can do so by directly contacting the respective consumer commission in their district or state.
