RCB signed Mayank Agarwal for the injured Devdutt Paddikal who has been ruled out from the tournament after sustaining a hamstring injury. Paddikal had just picked up his form batting at number 3, scoring 247 runs in 10 matches. However, an untimely injury has ended his journey for this year.

 

Mayank Agarwal, on the other side, was left unsold in the 2025 Mega Auction. Mayank has played 127 matches and scored 2661 runs scoring 1 IPL hundred and 13 fifties. IPL has released a statement, that said,

 

"Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have signed Mayank Agarwal as an injury replacement for Devdutt Padikkal for the remainder of TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Devdutt Padikkal, who played 10 matches for RCB this season and scored 247 runs with the help of two half-centuries, sustained an injury to his right hamstring."

 

"Mayank Agarwal has played 127 IPL matches so far, scoring 2661 runs. He has 1 IPL hundred and 13 fifties against his name. He joins RCB for INR 1 Crore."

The English batter Harry Brook had pulled out his name in the very early phase of the tournament, citing him prioritizing his international commitments. Towards the end of the tournament, DC added Sediqullah Atal from Afghanistan. The IPL statement reads:

 

"Delhi Capitals (DC) have picked Sediqullah Atal as a replacement for Harry Brook for the remainder of TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. England batter Harry Brook opted out of TATA IPL 2025 due to personal reasons. Sediqullah Atal from Afghanistan has scored 1507 T20 runs in 49 matches. The left-handed batter made his T20I Debut in 2023 and has represented Afghanistan in all three formats. He will now join DC for his base price of INR 1.25 Crore."
