The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has sent proposals in at least eight corruption-related cases to the state government seeking permission to confiscate assets worth Rs9.04 crore of the accused public servants. The ACB statistics revealed that the maximum number of cases are from the Mumbai region (3), followed by Pune (2) and one case each from Nashik, Nanded and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar range.

The maximum number of cases are related to the officials urban development department (4), followed by one case each related to the officials of the transport, agriculture, animal husbandry, dairy development and fisheries department, water resources department and public works department.

The highest amount of assets involved are related to the officials of the urban development department (Rs3.13 crore), followed by water resources department (Rs2.82 crore), public works department (Rs2.48 crore), transport department (Rs47.69 lakh) and agriculture, animal husbandry, dairy development and fisheries department (Rs12.77 lakh).

Last month, FPJ reported that most ACB trap cases are related to the officials of the revenue and land records department, followed by the police, panchayat samiti and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd (MSEDCL). According to the statistics, between January and April 23, this year, 243 corruption-related cases were registered in the state, including 238 trap cases.
