Delhi: In the 57th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won an exciting victory by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 2 wickets. This is the first time Chennai has won by chasing the target despite losing their 5 wickets inside the powerplay. The team completed the target of 180 runs by losing 8 wickets in 19.4 overs. In this victory, captain MS Dhoni remained unbeaten till the end and scored 17 runs.

Rahane told the reason

After losing by 2 wickets to Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane said that the team was in good condition, but the score was reduced by 10-15 runs. According to Rahane, the score of 185 to 195 runs on this pitch would have been better to win.

Brevis and Dubey overturned the match

Rahane praised Chennai batsmen Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dubey and said that both took advantage of the opportunity and turned the match in favor of their team. He admitted that Vaibhav Arora's one over proved expensive, but it is common in T20 cricket.

Satisfied with bowlers performance

Rahane praised his team bowlers and said, “I have no complaints, our bowlers performed well.” He admitted that the opposition team batted well and played their shots under pressure.

Playoff is expected now on the remaining two matches

In the end, Rahane said that now the way forward is clear, “We have to win both the remaining matches. Now let's see what happens next.”
