Ishika Bala of Chhattisgarh made the whole state proud by topping the 10th board after winning the battle against cancer. This 'supergirl' of Kanker is now dreaming of becoming an IAS.

The daughter of a simple farmer from the Naxal-affected Kanker district of Chhattisgarh has done such a feat that has made the whole state proud. We are talking about Ishika Bala, who not only returned after winning the battle against dangerous blood cancer, but also topped the entire state in the class 10th board exams. Ishika has scored 99.2% marks, while this time the pass percentage of the board was only 76%.

Ishika's story is no less than that of a film heroine. Last year her condition was so critical that she could not even appear in the exam. But she did not give up even during treatment. Amidst weakness, pain and fatigue, she did not leave books. She says that she wants to become an IAS officer in future and this dream kept giving her the strength to fight every difficulty.

Ishika has given the credit of her success to her parents and teachers. Her father said that the courage and hard work of the daughter has made the whole family feel proud. On one hand, where the female literacy rate in a district like Kanker is only 59.6%, Ishika's achievement has emerged as a new light for the daughters there.

According to reports, another student of Kanker, Akhil Sen, has topped this year's 12th board examination. He has scored 98.2% marks. Akhil's father runs a newspaper agency, and Akhil used to study while helping in distributing newspapers early in the morning.

CM congratulated

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai congratulated all the successful students, their families, and teachers and told the unsuccessful students, "Do not be afraid of defeat, this is the first step to success.
