Los Angeles National Award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut has secured her first major part in the horror thriller “Blessed Be the Evil,” preparing her for her Hollywood debut.
According to the description, the movie centers on a Christian couple who buy an abandoned property with a troubled background after suffering a terrible loss. A malicious presence soon puts their trust and love to the test.
According to variety.com, Kangana will co-star with Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone from “Teen Wolf” in the Lions Films film.
Producers particularly said that they selected U.S. venues to “avoid running into any uncertainties stemming from the recently announced Trump industry tariffs.” Production is scheduled to start this summer in New York.
Anurag Rudra, the director of Tailing Pond, will direct from a script he co-wrote with Lions Movies founder and president Gatha Tiwary.
“I was told stories that became ingrained in my mind and heart because I was born and raised in rural India,” Rudra said.
“This folklore was so special that I genuinely believed in all the stories and wanted to showcase them internationally through the art of cinema – the strongest and most beautiful way to connect to dreams and reality,” Rudra said.
“A story like ‘Blessed Be The Evil’ is very rare,” Tiwary added. Unprecedented drama and suspense have been included into Lions Movies’ spine-tingling story. Additionally, it offers a lot of potential for global markets in terms of sales and streaming.
Ranaut lends the idea a great deal of celebrity power. In addition to being a well-known actress who has won four National Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards, she is also a politician and filmmaker who is now a member of the Indian Lok Sabha.
Earlier this year, her film “Emergency,” in which she played Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, was released in theaters all over the globe.
Posey, who first gained popularity as the star in MTV’s “Teen Wolf” series and its follow-up movie, has dabbled with horror before with “Truth or Dare.” Stallone, the daughter of Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin, costarred with Nicolas Cage in the criminal comedy “Reach Me” and, more recently, in “The Gunslingers.”
