A man was left concerned about what to do when his wouldn't stay off his driveway, which was making his life a lot more difficult for them to access their garage. The man, who remains anonymous, explained: "Our driveway is a few inches from their property line (back when it was built, it was allowed). Their driveway is in the middle of their front yard. And their backyard access is on the other side, all , no walkway.

"This way, their backyard is to access from our driveway. All their friends use it to go to their backyard. If they need work done in the back, it’s from our driveway, because it’s easier, no damage done to their lawn," he shared, pointing out how complex the situation is.

However, he wasn't happy because whoever visited them uses his drive as "communal property," rather than treating it with respect.

"After numerous confrontations, nothing changed, apart from the fact that they pretend they can’t hear me and ignore every attempt at communication," he fumed on .

He said that it would be fine if they just "sent a text" giving them a heads up that they would be having visitors who would need to use the driveway.

However, since they didn't even do that, he was growing more fed up with their shenanigans.

"It’s just the entitlement", they continued, saying that "they just park at the end of the drive, often blocking the garage, because it's closer than walking all the way to the street, and they can just move equipment more easily".

People in the comments were left wondering why the person didn't just "put up a fence" to prevent their neighbour from doing this.

But someone quipped: "Oh sure, just drop thousands of dollars on a fence. It's so easy!" Another shared that they'd bought a fence that cost "12k," sharing that it often wasn't cheap.

One Redditor wrote: "Agree it’s not always as easy as people make it out to be to put in a fence. Cost of material, labour, and time. Possible cost to get it surveyed first. Different areas have different fence code requirements.

"Lots of times, neighbours get into fights over installing fences. Then you jump through all these hoops just for the bad neighbour to still end up trespassing somehow or do something else".

"Sometimes even a line of decent-sized rocks will do," somebody pointed out, with another joking: "And some cacti".

"How about some decent-sized heavy planters to make a barrier? Will have the same impact as a fence," a social media user suggested.

One man said that there was an even simpler solution than a fence, however, saying: "Everyone else is on about fences when this is the more practical option. Put up a simple tow-away sign".

"Install a camera and a sign that reads 'private property, written permission to park ONLY, violators will be towed'," somebody recommended, saying that it should serve as a deterrent for them to keep using his driveway.
