Bihar News: PMFME (Pradhan Mantri Micro Food Industry) Scheme is playing a remarkable role in benefiting the people of Food Processing to the people of Bihar. Bihar has once again waved the glory to implement this scheme. In the financial year 2024-25, Bihar has secured first place in the country in the success of the successful implementation of the scheme and more and more people. So far, approved to give loan to 10 thousand 296 applicants here. In this, loans have also been issued to 6 thousand 589 units. This is 63 percent of the total distribution.
PMFME is a special scheme being run by the Central Government. It aims to promote the unorganized sector of the food processing industry and promote competitiveness in it. With the help of this scheme, farmer producing organizations (FPOs), self -help groups (SHGs) and productive cooperatives are also provided their actual value.
Many types of beneficiaries can be prepared under the PMFME scheme. This includes entrepreneurs, private limited companies, proprietorship firms, partnership firms, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), cooperative societies, FPOs and self-help groups.
In this, important steps are being taken in empowering the food processing units of the state. Under the scheme, financial assistance is being provided to units at individual, group and community levels through grants. Credit linked grant of up to 35 per cent of their project cost (maximum Rs 10 lakh) is being given to the individual micro -food processing unit. The contribution of the beneficiaries is at least 10 percent and the total investment including working capital is up to 20 percent.
In this, FPOs, self -help groups and cooperative societies are also being given a credit linked grant of up to 35 percent of the project cost (maximum Rs 10 lakh) as a group unit. In this too, the contribution of the beneficiary group is mandatory to be at least 10 percent and the total capital investment of 20 percent. Under the General Facilitation Center, FPO, SHG and cooperative societies are being assisted for general infrastructure. Under this scheme, a grant up to 35 percent of the project cost (maximum Rs 3 crore) is possible. The beneficiary group has to increase minimum 10 percent contribution and total capital investment up to 20 percent.
Industry Minister Nitish Mishri in the Bihar government said, PMFME is a very beneficial scheme to establish entrepreneurship in the state, especially small level industries. It is being implemented in Bihar in the best way. The result of this is that the state has reached the top position in the country. It is a matter of pride for the state. This will promote industries and employment in the state.
