New Delhi. Changing lifestyle, increasing stress and wrong eating habits are affecting men’s health. Especially the problems to blood pressure (BP) are increasing rapidly in men. Experts believe that men’s blood pressure also changes with age, and there is a “healthy” BP range at all ages, which is very important to maintain.
What is normal BP?
Normal blood pressure is considered 120/80 mmhg. The first figure in this is systolic pressure (when the heart pumps blood) and the second diastolic pressure (when the heart is in a state of rest). However, this standard is not the same for all ages.
What should be the BP range according to age?
20 to 30 year old men:
General BP: 120/80 mmhg
Work limit: 130/85 mmhg
Men of 30 to 40 years:
General BP: 122/82 mmhg
Warning level: 135/88 mmhg
40 to 50 years old men:
General BP: 125/83 mmhg
Danger bell: 140/90 mmhg
Men more than 50 years old:
General BP: 130/85 mmhg
High BP: above 140/90 mmhg
Why does BP grow with aging?
With aging, the arteries of the body begin to become hard, which affects blood flow and the heart has to pump blood with more pressure. Apart from this, obesity, lack of physical activity, and stress also cause high BP.
What precautions should men take?
Get BP check regularly. Limit salt and fried food intake. Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol. Exercise at least 30 minutes daily. Yoga, attention and adequate sleep are necessary for stress management. Doctors say “Many times the symptoms of high BP are not revealed, but it can gradually damage the heart, kidney and brain. So timely investigation and vigilance is very important.”
