Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the Mumbai Metro Line 3 service between Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and Acharya Atre Chowk on May 9, Friday. He was joined by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and other senior officials at the launch event. The metro line is now open for public use starting today, on May 10.

An official post on X (formerly Twitter) by Mumbai Metro Line 3 shared important details about this newly operational phase. A total of six stations have been made available to passengers on this stretch. The stations include: BKC, Dharavi, Shitla Devi, Dadar, Siddhivinayak, Worli, and Acharya Atre Chowk.

Mumbai Metro Line 3

The metro services on this route will run Monday to Saturday from 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM, and on Sundays from 8:30 AM to 10:00 PM. This 9.77 km fully underground corridor is designed with modern features for enhanced passenger convenience and safety.

The new metro line is being operated with a fleet of eight trains. Services will run at a frequency of every 6 minutes and 20 seconds, ensuring fast and reliable travel for thousands of commuters each day. In terms of fare, Mumbai Metro Line 3 offers affordable ticket prices ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 40, depending on the distance travelled. The pricing is aimed at keeping daily commuting accessible to all sections of society.

With its strategic stations and efficient service, this newly launched metro segment is expected to improve east-west connectivity in Mumbai significantly.
