Navi Mumbai Metro Update: A new timetable for Line 1, which connects Belapur and Pendher, has been released by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), the body responsible for constructing Maharashtra’s cities. The revised timetable will take effect on May 11.

CIDCO explained the rescheduling and said that it was done to allow for metro train preventative maintenance.

According to the revised timetable, services from both Belapur and Pandhar stations would begin at 6 am on Sundays and public holidays. At 10 am, the last service will leave Belapur, and at 9:45 pm, from Pendhar.

On Sundays and public holidays, the services will operate every 15 minutes throughout the regular business hours.

The government agency in charge of city planning, CIDCO, said that the adjustment in the metro trains’ operating schedule on Line 1 was made to guarantee efficient rolling stock preventative maintenance without negatively affecting passenger needs.

The authorities also said that the services would go according to the usual timetable on all other days, with the exception of Sundays and public holidays.

Section of Thane-Belapur Road blocked
Another development is the closure of a portion of Navi Mumbai’s Thane-Belapur Road till May 14. The area will reopen at midnight on May 14 after being shuttered at 9:00 am on May 7.

According to the Navi Mumbai Traffic Department, the section restriction was put in place because of impending road concreting work close to IKEA. The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is doing the work.

In an effort to reduce traffic in Navi Mumbai, the traffic department has suggested other routes for drivers.

Light vehicles: To get to their destinations, detour via the Fire Brigade Signal in Mahape, then go via Sector 26 APMC and Palm Beach Road.

Heavy vehicles: Commuters may continue the same MIDC route by turning left from beneath the Savita Chemical Bridge or by turning left at the Fire Brigade Signal and continuing through the Turbhe MIDC region.
