Introduction to the Pankh Portal

The 'Pankh Portal', initiated for students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), is emerging as a groundbreaking digital initiative. This information was shared by a spokesperson from the Uttar Pradesh government. Developed in collaboration with the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and UNICEF, this portal teaches girls strategies to achieve their dreams.

Empowering Girls Through Career Guidance

With the right direction, platform, and confidence, girls can create their own unique paths, and this portal is guiding students in Uttar Pradesh towards new opportunities. Through the Pankh Portal, KGBV students gain insights into various career options such as defense, engineering, commerce, medical fields, sports, music, painting, writing, and debating.

The portal not only helps students choose careers aligned with their interests but also boosts their confidence and provides logical perspectives for problem-solving.

Career Corners in KGBVs

Each KGBV has established an active Career Corner, overseen by the warden, where skilled teachers in computer science and psychology regularly offer career guidance to students. Students from grades 6 to 12 can register on the uppankh.in portal to develop their career plans, which they document in their personal diaries.

Wardens routinely review diary entries to assist students in crafting precise plans, thereby enhancing their confidence and clarity.

Innovative Tools for Career Development

Fifty career guidance cards, developed with UNICEF's support, have become focal points for discussion and dialogue in schools. Additionally, large mind map flexes in the Career Corners promote creative conversations and the exchange of ideas.
