Matias Vecino's late equaliser secured a point for Lazio in a 1-1 draw against Juventus, who played with ten men. Juventus seemed poised to strengthen their hold on fourth place in Serie A after Randal Kolo Muani scored early in the second half at Stadio Olimpico.

However, Pierre Kalulu's red card for violent conduct left them vulnerable, and Vecino capitalised in the 96th minute with a close-range finish.

Juventus took the lead six minutes into the second half when Kolo Muani headed in his seventh league goal of the season from Weston McKennie's cross. Despite this advantage, Igor Tudor's team faced a setback as Kalulu received a straight red card for striking Valentin Castellanos. This left Juventus with a numerical disadvantage for the final 30 minutes.

Lazio intensified their efforts with the extra player advantage. Mario Gila's header was saved, Alessio Romagnoli missed over the bar, and Boulaye Dia struck the post in the 94th minute. Their persistence eventually paid off when Michele Di Gregorio could only deflect Castellanos' header to Vecino, who scored the equaliser.

Both teams remain tied on 64 points, with Juventus ahead on goal difference in fourth place. However, sixth-place Roma has an opportunity to overtake them if they win against Atalanta on Monday. "FT | 1-1 Pari nel finale #LazioJuventus #AvantiLazio," tweeted S.S.Lazio (@OfficialSSLazio) on May 10, 2025.

Vecino's goal came at 95 minutes and 42 seconds, marking it as one of the latest goals conceded by Juventus in two decades of Serie A play. Lazio has now scored 19 goals through substitutes this season, more than any other team. They have also drawn six consecutive home league matches for the first time since 1991.

Juventus' Away Game Struggles

Igor Tudor is now the first Juventus coach since Cestmir Vycpalek in 1971 to not win any of his first four away Serie A games. Despite this challenge, Juventus remains unbeaten in their last six Serie A matches where they received a red card, winning two and drawing four.

The match highlighted both teams' resilience and tactical adjustments under pressure. While Juventus managed to maintain their position despite playing with ten men, Lazio demonstrated determination by capitalising on their numerical advantage to secure a crucial point at home.
