Bhandara: The birth anniversary of Tathagata Lord Gautam Buddha will be celebrated in the district on Monday 12 May in the district in extreme reverence, gaiety and peaceful atmosphere. On this auspicious occasion, the main Buddha Vihar, Stupa and Dhamma centers of the district are decorated with attractive paint, electric lights and flowers.
The entire district is being experienced in the entire district. On this occasion, special worship, Archana, Buddha Vandana, Dhamma Deshna, Cultural Program and Social Useful Udyanas have been organized at hundreds of places.
Furnishing form of viharas
Buddha Vihar and Stupa of Lakhni, Sakoli, Tumsar, Mohadi, Adal, Pawni and rural areas including Bhandara city are equipped with traditional decorations, flowers garlands and lights. The echo of ‘Buddha Sharanam Gachhami, Dhamma Sharanam Gachhami, Sanghan Sharanam Gachhami’ is heard all around. Hundreds of Buddhist followers will be present in the viharas wearing white clothes. In the morning, Trisharan, Panchsheel recitation, Buddha Vandana, Meditation Sadhana and Dhamma texts will be read. In the presence of Bhante Sangh, Dhamma Desha will also be organized, in which people from different levels of society will participate.
Gautama Buddha: Guide of Humanity
Lord Buddha was the era of compassion, non -violence and equality. Siddharth, son of King Shuddhodhana, abandoned worldly life and went out in search of sorrow, old age, disease, death and salvation. In Bodh Gaya, under the Bodhivriksha, he attained knowledge and became ‘Buddha’ i.e. ‘enlightened man’. He told the ‘Ashtangik Marg’ (Samyak Vision, Sankalp, Walk, Karma, Live, Prayer, Smriti, Samadhi) that is also a lighthon pillar for today’s society. He gave the path of ‘Dhamma’ based on humanity beyond the distinction of caste, religion, gender and varna.
Social importance of dhamma
Buddha’s Dhamma is not only religious views but a way of life based on personal experience and truth. Dhamma means peace, equality, compassion, friendship and non -violence. Buddha said – “App Deepo Bhava” means be your own lamp. His message encourages rational thinking and self -reliance. Buddha Dhamma raised his voice against injustice, blindness, untouchability and discrimination. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar also accepted Buddha’s Dhamma and showed a new path to the society.
Buddha Purnima: Holy day of Trisundi
The Buddha Jayanti, which comes on May 12, is called ‘Buddha Purnima’. On this day, the birth of Gautama Buddha, attaining knowledge and Mahaparinirvana took place, so this day is considered especially sacred as ‘Trisandhi Day’. Followers are expected to follow restraint, practice, meditation and service on this day.
Diverse social undertaking
On the occasion of Buddha Jayanti in the districvarious undertakings like blood donation camp, meditation session, Buddhist Granth Text, Dhamma Song Competition, Rangoli Competition, Bhajan Presentation, Painting and Speech Competition, Dhamma Question Manch, Plantation, Health Camp, Annadan, Old Services Program and Buddha Vichar Manch have been organized. Buddha Jayanti is not only a religious festival, but an opportunity to inspire society for introspection, introvertity and wisdom. This day gives a message to take a step on the path of peace by staying away from malice, ego, fisheries.
