Debut Director Abishan Jeevinth’s Tourist Family has been winning critical and commercial success so much that the screens for the film have been increased with a rise in foothold. The Sasikumar-Simran starrer family drama entertainer is about how a migrant Sri Lankan Tamil family that escapes the island nation due to the economic tailspin and makes Tamil Nadu its new home and a forged identity its new normal.

The film has also been receiving appreciation from the celebrities, the latest being Sivakarthikeyan. Abishan posted a picture of him with the actor and wrote he is thankful to him for taking time to share his thoughts, reaction and feedback about the film. He added that Siva’s feedback was “incredibly encouraging”.

Released in theatres on May 1, Tourist Family has been receiving an overwhelmingly positive response in all circles. An excerpt from the CE review of the film reads, “For a film so lightweight it practically floats in your hands, Tourist Family is surprisingly punctuated by abrupt tonal shifts. Usually, that would work against a film; the emotional tug-of-war often leaves audiences unanchored, unable to fully connect with what the film wants them to feel. But here, those jarring shifts are wielded smartly.”

Tourist Family is produced by Pasilian Nazerath, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment banners. The film’s technical crew comprises music composer Sean Roldan, cinematographer Aravind Viswanathan, editor Barath Vikraman, art director Raj Kamal, and lyricist Mohan Rajan.
