Chennai In order to kick off the 127th season of the renowned Ooty Flower Show, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is scheduled to start a five-day official trip to the Nilgiris on Monday.
The Government Botanical Garden in Ooty will host this well-known event, which is a component of the yearly summer celebration, from May 15 to May 25.
The Nilgiris district government works with the Department of Horticulture and Plantation Crops to organize the event. One of the most eagerly awaited occasions on the state’s tourist calendar is the flower exhibition.
Due to a notable surge in anticipated visitor numbers this year, the event’s length has been increased from the customary five days to 10 days in order to provide guests with a more leisurely and interesting experience.
On Monday, the chief minister will fly from Chennai to Coimbatore. He would then drive to Ooty from there. He will formally open the flower display and provide a tour of the many floral installations, which have been thoughtfully chosen to showcase the area’s biodiversity and horticultural variety, on May 15.
CM Stalin’s schedule includes attending important public welfare events in addition to the flower display.
The issuance of pattas, or land ownership records, to thousands of qualified recipients—a gesture intended to empower landless households and advance rural development—will be a significant highlight.
The Chief Minister will also visit Doddabetta, the highest mountain in the Nilgiris, when he is there. There, he will speak with tribal people to learn about their problems and determine their requirements for development.
After concluding his official activities, CM Stalin is anticipated to return to Chennai by May 17.
He is probably going to take a little family vacation to Kodaikanal after the flower exhibition ends on May 25.
This year, thousands of people from all over the nation are anticipated to attend the Ooty Flower Show, a highlight of Tamil Nadu’s ecological and cultural festivities.
