RRR is still riding high, and this time it’s taking over London’s famous Royal Albert Hall. The movie sensation is receiving the concert treatment it deserves, almost a year after winning an Oscar for Naatu Naatu. Superstar Mahesh Babu is the surprise guest.
Videos and pictures of Mahesh Babu traveling to London, where he will join the RRR dream team—Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, and director SS Rajamouli—for a lavish live performance and movie screening on May 11, have been making the internet go crazy. The occasion will also double as a kind of preview for Rajamouli’s next epic, SSMB29, which has Mahesh Babu in the main role, as well as a nostalgic commemoration of the movie’s global influence.
Fans will get a unique behind-the-scenes look at the movie that changed the way the world views Indian film, as Ram Charan and Jr. NTR will personally introduce the screening and then take part in an interactive Q&A, according to Filmfare. Even though he is not a member of the RRR ensemble, Mahesh Babu’s presence has increased the enthusiasm, especially because his partnership with Rajamouli is one of the most eagerly awaited forthcoming projects in Indian cinema.
The RRR soundtrack will be conducted live by Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani, putting music front and center as well. Ben Pope will conduct the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, which will provide an immersive audiovisual experience by performing the music in tandem with the movie.
This is not Rajamouli’s first appearance at Royal Albert Hall; in 2019, his Baahubali: The Beginning was shown there with live music, which was the first time in the illustrious 148-year history of the venue that a non-English film was given such an homage. There was a resounding standing ovation at the conclusion of that showing, and the organizers are hoping for much more.
