The ashes of a schoolteacher who died in a horrific river rafting accident in Thane, Maharashtra, will be returned from Bali, Indonesia. According to the authorities, she was on a school trip when the tragedy occurred. According to a recent PTI story, the Indian worker was identified as Shweta Pushkar Pathak, a teacher at Birla Public School.

In Bali, Shweta Pathak perished in a tragic accident. We are now taking care of all the paperwork with the local government to return her corpse to India,” a school source told PTI.

“It is with deep sorrow and heavy heart that we inform our school community of the untimely and tragic demise of our beloved colleague, Ms Shweta Pushkar Pathak, in an unfortunate accident during a trip at Bali,” the school said on its official website about the news.

She was more than just a teacher. She was a mentor to her pupils, a helpful coworker, and a good-hearted person whose presence inspired and warmed everyone around her. We are forever changed by her love of teaching, her perceptive comments, and her unshakable commitment to her pupils and the school community,” the statement said.

The statement also disclosed that Pathak’s husband and school head Ranjna Jangra are now in Bali, working with the local government to arrange for the return of her corpse to India.
