During an event on Saturday, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari reminisced about his early days in politics. He recounted how, at the start of his political career, he faced hostility, with stones being thrown at his home by some locals. However, he noted that over time, those same individuals have now joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Gadkari was present to pay tribute to local BJP leader Ramdas Ambatkar. He emphasized that the dedication and hard work of BJP workers, even during tough times, is the party's greatest strength. He referenced a speech by former RSS chief Balasaheb Deoras, who stated that 'dedicated workers are the greatest strength of an organization.'
He highlighted the significant number of devoted workers within the RSS, attributing the organization's nearly century-long success to their efforts. Gadkari remarked that these individuals consistently prioritize their ideology and the nation.
Gadkari also looked back on his initial experiences in politics. He recalled that in 1975, while working for the BJP in the Nagpur area, he faced regular attacks on his home from local residents.
He noted that over the years, those same individuals began visiting the RSS headquarters, the Dr. Hedgewar Smriti Mandir, and even his home, with one eventually becoming the ward president of the BJP. Gadkari expressed gratitude for the contributions of the late Ambatkar and his family to the BJP and RSS.
