OpenAI, the maker of the popular artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT, is now working on new types of subscription plans. Recently, a tipster has found hints of some new subscription options in the code of the ChatGPT app, which mentions weekly and lifetime plans, however, there is no information about the prices of these plans at the moment, and the company has not made any official announcement in this regard.
AI tipster M1Astra shared screenshots of the code of the new build of the ChatGPT app in a post on X (formerly Twitter), which mentions these new plans. These codes are linked to the page that appears when users select the “Get Plus” option. Currently, there is a $20 (about ₹1,700) monthly and an annual plan available for ChatGPT Plus, but now options for weekly and lifetime plans have also been seen in the code.
While the weekly plan could be beneficial for users who need short-term flexibility, such as students, early professionals, or amateurs interested in AI, the lifetime plan would be an unusual move. With technology evolving rapidly, it may be challenging for the company to offer lifetime access at a one-time price. At the moment, this is only speculation, and there is no confirmation from OpenAI. So we will have to wait for the official statement from the company for the final decision and information about these new plans.
