Ever since its release on OTT, audiences have been commenting on how the show missed the mark, with even the acting being described as below average. Much attention has been focused on Bhumi Pednekar’s role. She plays Sophia, a woman trying to make her business idea work. While the character had potential, the internet expressed major disappointment with Bhumi’s performance, with some viewers even commenting that her lips were "distracting."

A lot of people reacted to the post and said that Bhumi was great in Dum Laga Ke Haisha but hasn’t done impressive roles since then.
Reacting to her screen presence in The Royals, one wrote, “I swear. Why did they even cast her man??? Ishan’s a natural, she reeks of fakeness. She overdoes everything, even her looks are soooo distracting.”
