In an interview with The Sunday Times, Brooklyn endearingly spoke about the former footballer. “It's something that me and my dad bonded over,” he said during Formula E Evo Sessions in Miami. “My dad's had some pretty cool cars,” Beckham said, adding that David’s best car is ‘1954 Jaguar, and he only drives it when the weather is perfect.

The reports surfaced after it was perceived that David had been desperate to make amends with Brooklyn and tried to contact him via social media. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, the 50-year-old shared a picture of his wife Victoria with all four of his children.
“Happy Mother's Day to the best mommy. To all our friends in the U.S. Happy Mother's Day,” he wrote in the caption, tagging all of his children. The fans suggest he may try to contact him through social media under the Mother’s Day tag.

A close friend of David told The Sun, “David and the family genuinely fear Brooklyn could be lost to them forever. The word ‘lost’ is especially poignant; it was the same feeling David had when he fell out with his own father.”
