A deeply unsettling event has unfolded in Guwahati, Assam, where a mother and her boyfriend are accused of murdering her 10-year-old son. The child's remains were discovered concealed within a trolley bag, which authorities found near the Basistha temple.

The suspects have been named as Depali Rajbongshi and her partner, Jyotirmoy Haloi. Both individuals are currently in police custody as investigations continue.

A senior police official revealed that the pair allegedly took the life of the young boy and subsequently hid his body in the bag that was later retrieved by law enforcement.

The situation escalated when the boy's mother filed a report at the Dispur police station, expressing concern that her son had not returned from his tutoring session. However, her demeanor raised suspicions, prompting further investigation. During questioning, the boyfriend admitted to the crime and led police to the location of the suitcase.

Authorities, along with a forensic team, have begun gathering evidence from the scene. The senior officer indicated that an autopsy is scheduled for May 12, which will shed light on the circumstances surrounding the child's death.
