The Khelo India Youth Games 2025 continues to impress with outstanding performances, especially on the ninth day of the competition, held in Bihar. One of the remarkable achievements came from Alka Singh of Bihar, who clinched the gold medal in shot put, adding to the state's growing success in the games.

Meanwhile, in the weightlifting category, Sairaj Pardeshi of Patiala’s Netaji Subhas Institute set the stage on fire by breaking three youth national records. Pardeshi won the gold in the 81kg category at Rajgir, contributing significantly to the competition's record-breaking atmosphere. Haryana's Tamanna also made headlines by setting the 10th youth record of the day, showcasing the incredible talent on display.

The Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna saw the start of the athletics competition, and the boys set a new benchmark with four meet records. Jithin Arjunan from Tamil Nadu set a new long jump record with a leap of 7.65 meters, surpassing Aryan Chaudhary's previous record of 7.42 meters set in 2022.

• Qadir Khan of Uttar Pradesh broke the meet record in the under-18 boys' 400m heats, finishing in 47.67 seconds, beating the previous record of 48.34 seconds by Abdul Razzaq from Kerala in 2019.
• In the evening events, Hansraj Dhayal of Rajasthan broke the discus throw record with a distance of 63.18 meters, and Saif Farooq Chafei of Maharashtra set a new record in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.48 seconds.

Maharashtra continued its dominance in weightlifting, with Sairaj Pardeshi breaking records in snatch (140 kg), clean and jerk (172 kg), and total weight (312 kg) in the 81 kg category. Maharashtra's success in weightlifting has added five gold medals to its tally, contributing to its impressive total of 35 golds so far. Other states like Karnataka and Rajasthan are following closely behind, while Haryana sits in fourth place.

In Kalaripayattu, Kerala won all three gold medals on Monday, propelling itself to sixth place with eight gold medals in total. Jammu and Kashmir also made a significant return, winning a bronze medal in Kalaripayattu, their first since 2021, showing how the state is coming back strong in the competition.

Nitin Kumar from Jammu and Kashmir expressed his joy after winning the bronze in the Chuvadukal individual event in Kalaripayattu. He credited his success to his consistent efforts and his coach Danish, stating, "I am very happy. I worked hard for four to five hours every day for this. Coach Danish also worked hard with me. I am happy that it paid off."
