Last Year’s Performance Overview
In 2024, the CBSE recorded a pass percentage of 93.60% in Class 10, with 20,95,467 students passing out of 22,38,827. For Class 12, the pass percentage stood at 87.98%, with 14,26,420 students passing out of 16,21,224.
Qualifying marks for CBSE exams
To successfully pass the CBSE Class 10 or 12 examination, a student must secure at least 33% marks in each subject, including theory and practical components. Grace marks may be awarded to those falling short by one or two marks.
CBSE 2025 board exam stats
More than 42 lakh students appeared for the CBSE board exams held between February 15 and April 4, 2025. The Class 10 exams concluded on March 18, while Class 12 exams ended on April 4.
New CBSE grading system Introduced
From the academic session 2024-25 onward, CBSE has implemented a relative grading system to reduce pressure and curb unhealthy competition. Unlike the earlier fixed percentage-based grades (e.g., A1 for 91-100), the new system evaluates students in comparison to their peers within subject-specific groups.
Compartment exam eligibility 2025
