How to Convert CGPA to Percentage for Class 10

Students can easily convert their CGPA into a percentage using the following formula:


Percentage (%) = CGPA × 9.5


For instance, if a student has achieved a CGPA of 8, the percentage can be calculated as follows:


Percentage (%) = 8.0 × 9.5


This calculation results in a percentage of 76%.

Calculating Percentage for Class 12

In Class 12, CBSE provides individual marks for each subject. To determine the overall percentage, students should follow these steps:



Step 1: Sum the marks of all main subjects (usually five).
Step 2: Divide the total marks by the number of subjects.


For example, consider the following subject marks (out of 100):



  • English: 90

  • Physics: 80

  • Chemistry: 80

  • Maths: 90

  • Computer Science: 90
    Total: 430
    Percentage = 430 / 5 = 86%
