Bengaluru: Popular television comedian Rakesh Poojary, who won hearts with his humorous roles, passed away on Monday following a sudden cardiac arrest. He was just 33 years old.
Rakesh, a rising star in both television and cinema, gained fame through the show Comedy Khiladigalu Season 3, where he emerged as the winner. His unexpected demise has shocked the Kannada entertainment industry and left his fans mourning.
He had acted in several films and was last seen shooting for Kantara – Chapter 1. His performance in the film was said to be filled with warmth and energy.
Actor and director Rishab Shetty expressed his heartfelt condolences through an emotional social media post. Sharing memories of Rakesh, he wrote:
“You will always remain a wonderful artist in my heart. Your smile while performing your role in Kantara is etched in my memory forever. This is an irreplaceable loss to the artistic community. Come back again, my friend. May your soul rest in peace. May God give strength to your family to bear this loss.”
What happened?
Rakesh had travelled to Nitte village near Karkala in Udupi district to attend a friend’s Mehendi function. While spending time with friends, he reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. He was rushed to the hospital immediately but could not be revived.
Rakesh’s untimely death has left the Kannada television industry grieving the loss of a promising talent.
