New producers David Heyman and Amy Pascal are hard at work in London on Amazon MGM's 007 reboot.

Rumours abound that the streaming giant wants to follow the death of 's Bond by taking the MI6 agent all the way back to the 1950s setting of the Ian Fleming novels.

Whatever the case, being cast as 007 is the hottest ticket in town for a Hollywood star, and we'd be surprised if there wasn't an announcement before the year is out.

Now the latest odds are in for the five actors most likely to be cast, according to the bookies, and the frontrunner's chances have just been slashed.

According to Ladbrokes, Casino Royale audition runner-up Henry Cavill was the frontrunner at 3-1. But he's now been leapfrogged by The Gentleman's Theo James, whose odds have been slashed down to 6-4. Meanwhile, 28 Years Later star

Additionally, Saoirse Ronan's husband Jack Lowden, star of Slow Horses, is on 8-1, and Happy Valley's James Norton, a fan favourite for years, is on 10-1. Take it all with a pinch of salt, but now that Amazon has full creative control, it seems anything is possible.
