Kolkata Weather Prediction
The region’s skies are predicted to be partly overcast on Wednesday. With maximum and lowest temperatures of around 37 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively, Kolkata in particular is expected to experience muggy and miserable weather. In the next few days, the city is expected to have thunder and lightning, particularly in the afternoon and evening, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). In order to warn citizens to exercise caution, a “yellow” notice has been issued for Kolkata.

Weather Forecast for South Bengal
Districts like Birbhum, West Burdwan, and West Midnapore are predicted to experience heat wave conditions until Thursday. Kolkata and the rest of South Bengal will continue to be hot and muggy. However, a number of districts, including both 24 Parganas, Nadia, Murshidabad, Burdwan, Midnapore, Jhargram, Purulia, and Bankura, are expected to see isolated thunderstorms with lightning.

In certain areas of South Bengal, thunderstorm activity and light rain are expected to start on Wednesday afternoon, according to the IMD. The rain may also be accompanied by gusty gusts. With the possibility of thunderstorms in North and South 24 Parganas, East Midnapore, Purulia, West Burdwan, Birbhum, Murshidabad, and Nadia through Saturday, the intensity of the rainfall is predicted to rise starting on Thursday. During severe storms, wind gusts might reach 30 to 40 kmph.

Weather in Bengal: Kalbaisakhi Warning
On Thursday and Friday, Birbhum, Murshidabad, Nadia, Burdwan, Jhargram, Paschim Medinipur, Purulia, and Bankura have also been placed under a Kalbaisakhi warning. Strong gusts of 60 to 70 kmph, as well as thunder and hail, are possible in these locations.

Weather Alert for North Bengal
There is no heat wave warning in North Bengal, despite the fact that Malda and the surrounding districts continue to experience hot and muggy weather. Nonetheless, Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, and Jalpaiguri are predicted to have very severe rain, with up to 200 mm predicted. Kalimpong and Darjeeling are also expected to have a lot of rain. Up till Saturday, thunderstorms are expected in every district in North Bengal, with a particular focus on Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, and Jalpaiguri. Malda and both districts of Dinajpur are expected to have light to moderate rainfall.

Weather in Bengal: Cyclone Shakti
A cyclone called “Shakti” is predicted to develop over the Bay of Bengal between May 23 and May 28, according to sources. The IMD has said that such systems might produce severe rainfall in several regions of the nation, although it has not formally verified this.
