Krispy Kreme has released a new pistachio doughnut in the UK. Following the success of the viral Dubai bar, there has been a surge in pistachio flavoured desserts and sweet treats.

The chocolate bar is known for being filled with having pistachio cream and now the popular doughnut company has jumped on the trend. The arrival of the Pistachio Overload doughnut in the UK comes after it was launched exclusively in last month, much to the delight of fans. Food reviewer Angelina, known on social media for determining whether trending treats are ‘Angelina certified’, picked up some of the pistachio doughnuts and was surprised by one thing when she put them to the test.

She shared her honest thoughts in a video. After taking a bite of the doughnut, her eyes lit up and she said: “This is actually so leng, I don’t think you understand, like I really like it.”

The food reviewer added that the pistachio cream inside the baked good was “so sweet” and she was surprised to find that it was “like pistachio whipped cream rather than just pistachio spread.”

Angelina noted that it was “very, very fluffy” and had a “kind of floral” aftertaste. She continued: “I actually can’t stop eating it because it’s so good.”

The dessert fan concluded: “This is so bad, I literally bought six of them and I feel like I’m gonna eat all of it today.”

Angelina scored the Krispy Kreme Pistachio Overload doughnut a nine out of 10 and decided that it was indeed ‘Angelina certified.’

People took to social media back in February begging for the doughnut to be launched in the UK following its release Down Under, so fans were thrilled to see Krispy Kreme answering their prayers.

The doughnut is filled with a pistachio cream from the award-winning Manchester dessert company BLACK MILK, and is topped with candied pistachio nibs and a white chocolate drizzle.

Krispy Kreme first launched the doughnut in the UK in Manchester on Sunday, May 11 before rolling it out to the rest of the UK and Ireland the following day.

Angelina’s TikTok video has garnered 141,300 views, 12,700 likes and almost 200 comments, at the time of writing.

The top comment is from Krispy Kreme itself who said: “We need to add Angelina Certified to our bio.”

The doughnut giant has in fact included @Angelina certified in its bio on TikTok. Another viewer added: “I fear I would eat this all in one sitting.”

A third chimed in: “I bet it tasted amazing.” However, not everyone shared the same opinion as someone else remarked: “I tried one today and I didn't like it at all and I love pistachio! Glazed raspberry all day long!”

The Krispy Kreme doughnut can be bought from UK stores for £3.49.
