At Krishi Bhawan on Wednesday, UP Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi carried out a thorough examination of departmental programs. To guarantee that farmers obtain the advantages of government programs in a prompt and transparent way, he issued stringent regulations. He emphasized that rather than being limited to documentation, the effects of these programs must be felt at the local level.

The minister emphasized how crucial it is to promptly provide farmers with necessary agricultural inputs, including gypsum, seeds, and biofertilizers. Additionally, he urged authorities to do routine inspections and ordered information boards to be put up at locations where demonstration activities are currently taking place.

The distribution strategy for 12.45 lakh quintals of certified seeds for Kharif 2025 was examined at the conference. Furthermore, the federal government has received a request for 323 quintals of enhanced seeds. 6.55 lakh micro kits are to be distributed in order to encourage the usage of high-quality seeds.

In addition, the state government has developed a plan to open 766 agri-junctions across Uttar Pradesh by the fiscal year 2025–2026. It was also determined how well the rapid maize development program, which is now being carried out on 57,252 acres, was doing.

The program, which is being implemented on 23,500 hectares in the Bundelkhand area, is focused on cow-based natural farming, and the minister expressed delight with its success.

Furthermore, a project of Rs 10,781 lakh has been suggested to remediate 35,600 hectares of barren and ravine land in the next fiscal year. According to officials, the project is on schedule to be finished within the allotted time, and the site selection process is now under progress.

In order to make agriculture more sustainable and lucrative, Minister Shahi also gave authorities instructions to use radio, television, digital media, fairs, and seminars to educate farmers about different programs and contemporary farming methods.
