A car drove into multiple people outside the stadium of Espanyol ahead of their fixture with on Thursday night. A clip of the harrowing incident was shared on social media during the game.

People outside the stadium were seen running away as police moved towards the vehicle. The incident, which occurred before kick off, eventually led to the Spanish top-flight game being paused briefly, though play quickly resumed when it emerged nobody was seriously hurt.

A report from outlines that the incident occurred shortly before kick-off and led to several ambulances being rushed to the scene. The same report goes on to state that according to Catalan police, the incident was an accident and occurred when a female driver lost control of her vehicle.
