Bharat Gaurav Train: According to Pune Pulse, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has planned a special train called the “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Circuit” to commemorate the anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation.
To emphasize the great Maratha ruler’s legacy and historical importance, the train will pass through notable locations connected to his life.
On June 9, the train will begin its voyage. The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and the government are spearheading the five-day special excursion as part of the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train project.
Dr. Atul Patne (IAS), the Principal Secretary of the Tourism Department, is leading the endeavor, and the MTDC is working with the government on the continuing preparations.
Travel Information on the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Circuit
– Time of departure: June 9 – Length of trip: 5 days
– Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai, is the starting station.
– Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai, is the end station.
In addition to the CSMT, Dadar and Thane stations are where visitors may board and disembark from the train.
Route of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Circuit
Beginning from CSMT, the train will go via Raigad, Pune, Shivneri, Bhimashankar, Pratapgad, Kolhapur, and Panhala before arriving back at CSMT.
Visitors will get the opportunity to see Raigad Fort, the historic capital where Shivaji Maharaj was crowned.
In addition, visitors will get the opportunity to see the Lal Mahal, the Shivsrushti and Kasba Ganpati in Pune; the Shivneri Fort; the Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga; the Pratapgad Fort; Kohapur; and the Panhala Fort.
Passengers who want to book may choose between 2AC, 3AC, and Economy (Sleeper Class).
