It’s summer and you might be treating yourself with an ice cream, sbut one chilling incident in Gujarat might make you throw the cone away in disgust.

A woman in Ahmedabad’s Maninagar area was left horrified after biting into a Havmor ice cream cone only to find a lizard’s tail inside. The shocking discovery made her seriously ill, leading to repeated vomiting and a hospital visit.

She had bought the cone for herself and her children from Mahalaxmi Corner, a local Havmor outlet, which, authorities later found, was operating without a valid license. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has since sealed the store and fined Havmor ₹50,000.

The incident surfaced after the woman recorded two disturbing videos showing the contaminated cone and posted them online. In one, she holds the dessert in her hand and says, "Ye dekho ye Havmor company ka hai. Kal leke aaye the 4 cone (See this. It is Havmor. I bought 4 cones yesterday)". A chopped lizard's tail rested on her palm as she filmed the clip.

In another, she narrated the ordeal of consuming the ice cream a little. She mentioned that her health deteriorated and she vomited repeatedly. "Itni halat kharab hogayi hai. Ultiyan bandh nahi ho rahi hai", the woman was heard saying in the now-viral video.

Further, expressing anger toward the brand, she slammed their negligence, "Aise aise bejneka? Thodi si kamayi ke liye aise karneka? Bachho ko marneka hai? (Sell like this for money? Aimed at killing kids?)".

She expressed relief that her children hadn’t eaten the cone, fearing they too would’ve fallen seriously ill.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) confirmed that Mahalaxmi Corner lacked necessary approvals and had violated food safety standards. The store has been sealed.
